1. Call for Application
The General Public is hereby informed that the Islamic Republic of Mauritania is launching the call for applications for the Chinguitt Prize 2025. The Prize rewards each year research works in the fields of Islamic Studies, Science and Technology as well as Literature and Arts. Eligible Tanzanian candidates are strongly encourage to submit their applications for consideration.
2. Notable Dates 2025:
Submission of applications: from the 15th of January to the 31st of March 21, 2025
Announcement of results: no later than the 31st of October
3. Prize details:
i. A financial reward of an amount of 5,000,000 MRO
ii. An honorary diploma and a medal
4. Eligibility criteria:
· Open to Mauritanians or foreign researchers, higher education and scientific research establishments and cultural associations,
· Applicants’ works must demonstrate significant creativity and originality in their respective field,
· Applicants must fulfil the following conditions during their submission:
i. The work should not have been published or exhibited for more than 3 years,
ii. The works should not have been carried out to obtain a University degree,
iii. The work should not have already been awarded a prize.
5. Application file requirement:
i. A request duly signed by the candidate specifying the targeted field of application,
ii. A concise Resume (CV) of the candidate and possible recommendations,
iii. A detailed description specifying the methodology and relevance of the work presented,
iv. The work or works presented must be delivered in eight copies (8),
v. A sworn statement specifying that the file meets the eligibility criteria.
6. File submission process:
· The application file must be submitted to the permanent secretariat of the Council or sent by post, postmarked as proof of sending date.
