1.0  Call for Application

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology wishes to inform the general public that the Government of Hungary, through the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme, has announced the scholarship applications for the 2026/2027 academic year. The scholarship is available to Tanzanian students to pursue a Bachelor’s, One-tier Master’s, Master’s, and PhD studies at public universities in Hungary. 2.0. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
i.   Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with Division One, or a Diploma with a minimum of Upper Second Class for bachelor applicants 
ii.  Relevant Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Upper Second Class for Master’s applicants
iii. Relevant Master’s degree with a minimum of Upper Second Class for PhD applicants and
iv. English Language Proficiency.

3.0 Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit the following documents through the online application system:
i.   Certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts;
ii.  Motivation letter (minimum one page, Times New Roman font, size 12);
iii. Proof of English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL certificate);
iv. Copy of a valid passport or National ID;
v.  Medical certificate.
vi. An employed applicant must attach a letter from the employer assuring the study permission upon receiving the scholarship.

 4.0. Scholarship Benefits

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship covers the following:
i.   Exemption from tuition fees;
ii.  Monthly stipend;
iii.  Accommodation;
iv. Medical insurance.

5.0. Application process 

Applications must be submitted online only (hard copies will not be accepted). The application portal opens on 14 November 2025 and closes on 15 January 2026 at 2:00 PM (CET).
