TESP Project Coordinator, Cosmas Mahenge has said that the project funded by the Government of Canada is focused on strengthening teacher education, especially at the level of Diplomas and Teaching Certificates in Government Teaching Colleges and that it has a total of more than 90 billion shillings. He has mentioned the major works done by the project as providing training to more than 1,300 trainers, purchasing IT equipment for all 35 public colleges and connecting them to the national internet backbone. The other is the construction of a model Kabanga Teaching College, construction and renovation in seven colleges, renovating and building modern libraries, IT and science laboratories, strengthening leadership by providing leadership training to leaders and officials Ministry of Education Headquarters with the goal being strengthen the system for managing teacher education.
